Sarah Hoppe

Sarah lives in Rochester MN with her husband and two fantastic teenagers. She got her degree in elementary education from Bemidji State University and currently works in a Rochester elementary school. Growing up, Sarah never considered herself an artist, but looking back on clothing style and room decor, she definitely was.

Originally from northern MN, Sarah travels home regularly to visit family and photograph the great outdoors. Her journey with photography started with taking photos of her kids and has blossomed to capturing nature and old buildings. She's displayed her photos in Rochester and the surrounding area, and took the first place photo in the 2024 Med City Art Festival Competition.

Sarah also paints with acrylics and needle felts. She began both to experience more "hands-on" mediums. She fell in love with the virtually endless possibilities of needle felting. If you can envision it, you can create it. She recently joined the MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids, MN to display her needle felting.

Sarah is a board member of Gallery 24. This non-profit art gallery in Rochester hosts classes, open exhibitions, guest artist spots, and more. You can find Sarah's photography, paintings, and needle felting there. You can also take her needle felting classes.
