Julie Yost

Julie Yost is a fiber artist living and working in Rochester, MN. She specialized in fabric manipulation and surface design such as ice-dye, tie-dye, shibori, embroidery, appliqué, eco-printing, natural dyeing  and batik. With over 38 years of teaching experience, Julie has taught classes in dyeing, sewing, macrame, batik, print making, tataki zome, and creative problem solving. 

Leaves, trees and flowers are not only Julie’s inspiration, they are also her art supplies and materials. She uses leaves for weaving and 3D structures and the plant's own pigments and tannins as dyes.
