Amy Wix

 I grew up in the southwestern desert, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, wildlife and desert foliage before moving to the Rochester area in 1988. Now I am inspired by the beauty Minnesota has to offer, especially the state parks and the North Shore.  I’ve had no formal training in art but I have always been one to be drawn to a piece and say to myself, “I can do that!”  I’ve always been a maker, enjoying fabric and paper crafts.  I taught middle school math for 27 years and as I was planning my retirement I discovered the world of laser art.  I love the design process from digital file editing, choosing the wood pieces, laser cutting and finishing intarsia inspired pieces.
