Connie Simonson
I have been weaving since college using many different types of looms: From the traditional rigid heddle, inkle and pin looms to oatmeal boxes, branches, frames and rocks. Many of my weavings include driftwood from Lake Superior.
I prefer the Saori or freestyle method of weaving. When I start a project, I never know exactly how it will turn out in the end.
I was a member of SEMVA in Rochester and also made street banners for the Zumbrota Area Arts Council .
Needle felting, crocheting, and watercolor painting are more creative activities I am exploring.
I have lived in Rochester for over 40 years with my husband . We have 1 son and 2 granddaughters.
