Gerard McCabe

About the Photographer

"The world is thy ship and not thy home." - St. Thérèse of Lisieux

For Gerard, photography is more than a profession-it's a way of honoring the beauty he's seen on the long road of life. His journey began at sixteen, when the loss of his father led him to leave school and set out for Miami Beach. That first bold step into the unknown sparked a lifelong pursuit of discovery and wonder.

Travel became his classroom, and the world, his subject.

A turning point came when a close friend, formally trained in photography, opened Gerard's eyes to the quiet power of an image

— the way a lens can capture life, preserve beauty, and stir the soul.

He's been chasing that magic ever since, seeking to bring the world to life through his own camera.

From the golden wheat fields of Texas to the open skies of Canada, Gerard worked alongside custom harvesting crews, cutting across the heart of the Midwest. Those early seasons left a deep mark on him. The sweeping plains, the light dancing across amber crops, the honest labor of the land -those sights still live in his mind, seared in memory like photographs.

Today, through True North Photography, Gerard brings that same reverence to every frame he captures. Whether it's the quiet dignity of a home or the untamed beauty of a faraway landscape, his work reflects a lifelong love of place, light, and story.
